Jonathan Langer

Jonathan specializes in business law and real estate.

He has extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in a wide variety of deals, from complex M&A transactions to simple local business deals, and large commercial real estate transactions to buying and selling urban and mountain homes.

As more than a deal advisor, Jonathan serves as outside general counsel for his clients, advising on matters including employment agreements, bank loans, early stage fundraising, general contract issues, and commercial leasing for both landlords and tenants.

In addition to providing legal services, Jonathan is a licensed Colorado real estate broker, working with buyers and sellers of high end residential properties in both Denver and the Vail Valley, as well as commercial sales and leasing.

Jonathan attended Williams College (B.A., History and Environmental Studies, 2004, Cum Laude, Honors) and the University of Colorado Law School (J.D. 2009, Law Review).

Jonathan has taught continuing legal education programs at the Colorado Bar Association’s annual Business Law Institute.

Jonathan is a member of the Vail Board of Realtors, South Metro Denver Realtors Association,  Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries, and the Colorado Bar Association.

In his free time, Jonathan enjoys skiing, mountain biking, golf, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his wife and boys.

Kristen Burke

Kristen specializes in business and recreation & adventure law.

She advises buyers and sellers in small business purchase and sale transactions. Her pragmatic and collaborative approach has helped clients close deals with purchase prices ranging from $100,000 to $10,000,000. Beyond transactions, Kristen serves as outside general counsel to small business owners. She advises these clients on myriad legal matters including entity formations, employment issues, independent contractor agreements, vendor and customer contracts, and risk management.

Kristen additionally provides specialized legal and risk management services to clients in the recreation, adventure, and experiential education industries. She counsels camps, schools, outfitters, equipment rental shops, and other organizations on big-picture strategies to assist them in running quality operations. Kristen delivers an informed perspective to clients in this unique area of law, including advice related to legal documents such as participant risk releases, enrollment agreements, guide contracts, equipment rental terms and conditions, medical information forms, and other industry-specific contracts.

Kristen earned her J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2009 after graduating from Tufts University in 2006. After law school, she served as an appellate law clerk and in-house counsel to now-retired Chief Justice Nancy Rice of the Colorado Supreme Court. Kristen founded her own business law practice before merging with Izbiky & Langer in 2017. She became a partner at Izbiky & Langer before the firm rebranded as CrestPoint Partners.

A Colorado native, Kristen loves to spend time in the mountains with her husband and two children. She also enjoys travel, exercise, reading, and music.

Ty McKinstry

Ty’s practice focuses primarily on real estate law.

His background in commercial real estate, first in commercial real estate brokerage and later in real estate investment, uniquely positions Ty to assist clients in all types of real estate matters and transactions. His specific areas of expertise include entity formation, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, condominium formation, and financing. Ty also maintains an active Colorado Real Estate Broker’s License, which provides him with practical experience in both commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Aside from his real estate practice, Ty also assists clients with general corporate matters and the purchase and sale of businesses.

Ty attended the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in 2005. Ty later returned to Boulder to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 2009. Post-graduation, Ty worked at several large Denver-area firms before joining Izbiky and Langer in 2018, where he became a partner before the firm rebranded as CrestPoint Partners.

In his free time Ty enjoys coaching his kids’ youth sports teams, skiing, and spending time with his wife, four children, and golden retriever.

Candis R. Ferguson

Candis focuses primarily on recreation and adventure law.

Candis graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, cum laude, with a B.A. in Psychology and History. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the California Western School of Law in San Diego where she specialized in Employment Law. She was the President of the Employment Law Society, a member of the Negotiation Team, and interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Office Civil Division working on employment law, federal tort claims, and medical malpractice matters. Candis is licensed in Colorado and California.

Most recently, Candis defended third-party administrators, insurers, and employers in all phases of litigation before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board in San Diego, CA. Candis translates her litigation experience to her law practice through her risk management mindset, spirit of collaboration, and strong negotiation skills.

Candis enjoys reading, camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and goldendoodle, Mollie Moo Golden Doo.

Catherine Hansen-Stamp

Catherine Hansen-Stamp is an attorney in Golden, Colorado.  For the last 27 years, her practice has focused solely on advising recreation, adventure and experiential program providers and related organizations on law, liability and risk management issues.  Cathy speaks and writes frequently on these issues, both regionally and nationally for a variety of organizations.  She has presented at the Annual Wilderness Risk Management Conference since its inception in 1994 and just completed 2 terms on the Steering Committee.  She has authored or co-authored numerous articles, including many for the American Camp Association’s CampLine and other publications.  Cathy received her B.A. in Political Economy from Colorado College in 1981 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming in 1985.  She is a member of both the Wyoming and Colorado Bar Associations and the University of Wyoming College of Law Advisory Board.

Joy Evans

Joy C. Evans is a certified paralegal with almost twenty years of law firm experience.

She has experience in a number of legal fields including probate, family law, and litigation, but has focused on business and corporate law for over two and half years. She has a unique perspective as both a paralegal and a small business owner and enjoys helping other business owners realize their entrepreneurial dreams. She is also a licensed notary.

Prior to joining the firm, Joy exercised her entrepreneurial spirit by co-founding Starshine Slumber Parties, LLC. There, she managed operations for party rentals and planning, and co-created a business plan which drove the business to become profitable within its first year of operation.

Joy earned her B.A. in Paralegal Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006. There, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors College.

In her spare time, Joy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include hiking 14ers, backpacking, camping, reading, and spending time with friends.
